What is one of your favourite quotes of all time?
“When you’re screwing up and nobody says anything to you anymore, it means they’ve given up on you”. – Randy Pausch
If you could be anyone else who would you be and why?
There are so many individuals whose achievements, values, and personality have inspired me, and I cannot decide on who I would rather be. However, if I had the opportunity, I would like to live in a small apartment in Paris and work in a café for an entire year.
Since my first French language class, I aspired to be able to speak fluently. By conversing with customers, I will be able to not only develop my proficiency in French, but also learn of the Parisian lifestyle and culture. I hope to make mornings more pleasant for everyone who enters the café, and for everyone to leave and start their day with a smile.
If you were lucky enough to win the lottery, what would you do?
While volunteering with a youth group in Kenya, I visited an all-girls high school in the Maasai Mara region. In a small classroom, a student pointed at the ceiling and explained that she was grateful for the light fixtures; before the lights were installed, she did not have enough time to study during the evening due to the lack of sunlight. If I won the lottery, I would fund projects to have light fixtures in classrooms in rural Kenya because inadequate lighting should not be a barrier to success.
Why did you become a part of AOA?
AOA executes numerous accounting-focused events, ranging from information sessions to networking events. Regardless of an individual’s progress towards a career in accounting, everyone can benefit from the variety of events held throughout the year. The students at UTSC have limitless possibilities, and I want to help students realize their potential and endeavors in the accounting industry.
