What is one of your favourite quotes of all time?
“I do it because I can. I can because I want to. I want to because you said I couldn’t”.
I believe this quote resonates with many of our lives. Each and every one of us has experienced someone telling us that we are not good enough at one point in our lives. Regardless of what others think, it is how you react to these remarks that can make or break you. Needless to say, this quote stuck through me during my difficult moments and it has motivated me to do more than I can ever imagine! One thing that I am certain is that you know your limits best; do not allow someone to define who you are or what you are capable of.
If you could be anyone else who would you be and why?
MYSELF. I cannot imagine being anyone else! I am happy with who I am and how far I have come in the most genuine and humble manner. :) I am not perfect. I know my strengths but I also learnt to appreciate and laugh at my own flaws. I truly believe we are all special and unique individuals with different backgrounds. If you see me, I want to hear your STORY!
If you were lucky enough to win the lottery, what would you do?
I would place half of the money into a high interest savings account. Some of the money will go into purchasing two houses, so that I can receive property income. A good portion would be invested in the charities I greatly support. The rest of the money will be left for my parents who can have anything they want because they have done so much for me! Once I accumulate a substantial amount of money, I will build my dream house from the ground up, purchase a grand piano and travel to Europe with my family.
Why did you become a part of AOA?
In my first year, I chose to become a part of the AOA team because I saw a great potential for the club to grow and develop itself, but also the opportunity for myself to grow as well. Now, serving my second year, my intentions have changed for the better. My vision is to INSPIRE OTHERS to realize their goals. I am a true advocate when it comes to reaching one’s goals and I hope that students take something away from our events. As simple as reinforcing a common knowledge or gaining a new insight. I find happiness in the little things that can make a difference in lives of others.
I have met so many new people and I am so grateful to call them all my FAMILY. Everyone is so driven, hardworking and most importantly, genuine which makes the work environment that much easier to work in. From day one when I stepped into this club, I treated this as my second home. Opportunities are limitless and it is up to YOU to make the most out of it!
